Conditions We Treat
Arthritic Conditions
Arthritis is a term used to describe a series of conditions that cause inflammation in the joints and surrounding tissues. Arthritis may cause the joints in the hand, wrist and arm to become painful, dysfunctional and/or deformed.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Also known as median nerve compression, carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve is pinched, resulting in pain, numbness or tingling in certain fingers or the hand. The median nerve controls feeling and movement in the thumb and first three fingers (not the little finger).
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Cubital tunnel syndrome is a condition that occurs when the ulnar nerve—informally known as the “funny bone” nerve—is overstretched or placed under pressure. These issues can result in tingling or numbness in the ring and small fingers, weakness in the hand and/or pain in the forearm.
Dupuytren’s Contracture
Dupuytren’s contracture is a deformity of the hand that develops when knots form in a layer of tissue under the skin of the palm. These knots eventually create a thick cord in the tissue that pulls one or more fingers into a bent position.
Fractures and Dislocations
A fracture is a crack or break in the bone(s), and a dislocation is the result of two bones in a joint moving out of place. These injuries are usually the result of trauma during a motor vehicle accident or while playing a sport.
